In early 2021 the seed of an idea to collaborate with others to find ways to reduce the embodied carbon in commercial and residential buildings was planted. For the next two years three architectural firms and one environmental engineering firm from the Denver area joined together to learn and develop the resources that would help other designers to take actions to reduce embodied carbon on their projects. In 2023 our collaborative added seven architectural firms with strong sustainability credentials and the desire to do more. At the end of 2024 we have 13 architectural firm members, NREL, one environmental engineering firm and one general contractor.
